Practical advice to make Your Camino easier, more rewarding and a better experience.

The Way of St James is a pilgrimage towards the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in Galicia in north western Spain.  Often called by the Spanish words, El Camino, in English “The Way”, it is more than just a long distance walk.

El Camino de Santiago de Compostela

Naked Pilgrim by Brian Sewell
I suppose I first heard about the Camino watching Brian Sewell’s Naked Pilgrim on TV. I was looking around for a long distance walk and I thought this sounded a possibility, so I did a search for Blogs on The Camino. There are lots out there some excellent, informative, helpful, and inspiring, and some ego trips, a bit like Brian Sewell, who I find a lot over the top and hard to swallow and digest.

The Way a film with Martin Sheen
At the other end of the scale in terms of enjoying a film, is The Way a story with Martin Sheen. Easy to digest but a bit like a soft sandwich, some meaty bits but with an awful a lot of soggy lettuce padding. None-the-less I bought the video and watch it often to refresh my memory about the scenery.
